These Terms and Conditions and our Privacy and Cookies Policy apply to the use of our website mustardjar.co.uk, any apps we produce, to the use of our services and to mustard jar cash rewards as described below (“Services”). If you access or use our Services you will be deemed to have agreed to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy and Cookies Policy.
For your own protection please read this document carefully and contact us for clarification if there is anything you have difficulty understanding.
The Services are provided strictly for the use of UK residents only and only UK residents may apply for a mustard jar account (“an Account”). Applications for a mustard jar account (an “Account”) from non-UK residents will not be accepted. Only UK residents may benefit from the mustard jar cash rewards described below and you must be over 16 years old to open an Account.
References to “our website” in this document are references to the website at mustardjar.co.uk.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and will publish amended versions of the Terms and Conditions on our website. We will also endeavour to inform you directly, via email, of any changes made. Use of our Services after the date of the publication of any amended Terms and Conditions will constitute acceptance of our revised Terms and Conditions.
Who are we?
mustardjar.co.uk is a trading name of Bauer Consumer Media Limited who are an appointed representative of Vast Visibility Limited of 8 Princes Parade, Liverpool, L3 1DL (company number 05866769) which is registered by the Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 566973. We are not a retailer, merchant, insurance broker or an insurance company (together a “Merchant”) and we do not sell goods or services ourselves. We advertise the goods and services of the Merchants who appear on our website and collect cash rewards provided by a Merchant for holders of an Account. Cash rewards can be redeemed by visiting Redeem only after you purchase an insurance product through mustard.co.uk which, like our website, does not provide or recommend insurance services or products or provide insurance broker services but advertises the products and services of Merchants. Before making any purchases from Merchants advertising on mustard.co.uk, please read the separate terms and conditions which can be found on the Merchant’s website.
The goods and services which are advertised by the Merchants on our website are provided by the relevant Merchant subject to their own terms and conditions which you should read carefully. If you go on to make a purchase, your agreement to purchase the goods and services is with the Merchant and not with us. Merchant websites and goods and services are not under our control and we are not responsible or liable for the content of any Merchant’s website, for the acts or omissions of any Merchant or for their customer care or the quality of their goods or services. We do not offer any advice or make recommendations as to which product or service you should choose or buy.
mustard jar Accounts
To open an Account and begin collecting mustard jar cash rewards you will need to provide the relevant details requested during the sign-up process. You can only hold one Account at a time. If you are associated with more than one Account (for instance through your partner), then allowed transaction recurrences may be determined across these multiple Accounts as part of fraudulent usage prevention.
You can cancel your Account at any time by emailing email@example.com. If you cancel your Account you will forfeit all of your mustard jar cash rewards earned to date and any further deemed applicable transactions which might otherwise be credited to your Account will not be deemed applicable. Further, you will no longer be able to access your Account or your Account history. Any details or information you have provided to our sister site mustard.co.uk will however be retained.
We reserve the right (in our sole discretion):
- to reject your application for an Account until such time as it is deemed opened and to revoke any cash rewards in your Account;
- to suspend your Account to investigate any unusual activity on your account; and
- to terminate dormant Accounts.
In order to keep an Account active and ensure it does not get treated as dormant, we do not require purchase transactions, but we do require you to simply log into your account at least once every six months.
In the event of a breach of these Terms or Conditions, of fraudulent or abusive activity or other activity (such as making purchases which are not genuine or in good faith, registering a stolen credit card or attempting to obtain cash rewards where they have not been earned), or other acts which are not in good faith, we reserve the right to terminate your Account.
By opening an Account, you agree to receive servicing emails and SMS messages from us relating to your Account and our Services. You are required to receive servicing emails to benefit from the mustard jar service. If you choose not to receive these servicing messages your Account will be terminated and you will forfeit the cash rewards in your Account.
Where appropriate, we will send you carefully selected and relevant marketing emails. If you wish to unsubscribe from marketing communications, you can do so at any time by either;
- clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of each marketing communication
- emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We reserve the right to terminate a member's Account if a serviceable email address is not provided or if our emails are marked as abusive, junk or spam.
Who provides mustard jar cash rewards?
The mustard jar cash rewards which are paid into your Account are provided by third party reward supply companies who receive them from Merchants. They are not provided by us and we are not responsible for them. The reward suppliers we currently work with are: Gobsmack Limited, Top Benefit Schemes Limited, Sports Loyalty Card Limited t/a Reward, Loyalty Prime Limited, The REaD Group and City Partnership (UK) Limited (“the Reward Suppliers”). Although we have used great care to select our Reward Suppliers, we are not agents or partners of those suppliers or otherwise responsible for their acts or omissions, for the provision of rewards by them or for any failures to supply advertised rewards.
Collection of mustard jar cash rewards

There are two main ways for mustard jar cash rewards to be earned from our Merchants:
- by clicking on a link on the mustardjar.co.uk website to that Merchant’s website and making a qualifying purchase directly with that Merchant through that link; and
- by registering up to 15 debit or credit cards, to link them to your mustard jar Account.
Any added cash reward must be £0.01 or more for it to be credited to your Account. Some low value transactions may not therefore be eligible for a cash reward.
All mustard jar cash rewards are provided subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant Merchant and Reward Supplier.
Online mustard jar cash rewards
You can earn mustard jar cash rewards by clicking through to a Merchant via the main ‘Get cash reward’ button on our website mustardjar.co.uk and making and completing the relevant qualifying purchase directly through that link (and not via any other third party sites).
Your purchase must be made in a single browsing session or you will not receive a cash reward. We credit your Account with cash rewards earned from Merchants and Reward Suppliers for your applicable transactions where the credit can be traced directly to your Account by means of an identification tag provided in the reports of the Merchants and the Reward Suppliers.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any browser you are using permits the use of identifying tags. If it does not, your Account will not be credited with the cash reward. If you leave and return to a Merchant’s website your identifying tag may be lost and you may not be credited with a cash reward.
If you click through to a Merchant via a sponsored advert on our website, then no cash rewards will be earned. We will make clear which links are advertising links and where they are not applicable links for earning cash rewards.
To qualify for a cash reward all purchases must be made for genuine, good faith and legitimate reasons. If we, the Reward Supplier or the Merchant believes, acting reasonably, that your transaction was not made for genuine, good faith and legitimate reasons then your transaction will not qualify for cash rewards.
You should read the terms of the relevant offer carefully from the Merchant and note the expiry date of the offer.
Your applicable transactions will be credited in line with the cash rewards the Reward Supplier tells us you have earned and which they have received from the Merchant. Some Merchants pay rewards on the purchase amount inclusive of tax and/ or delivery charges and some Merchants exclude these values for the purpose of calculating and awarding rewards. We can only credit you with rewards if they are received by us. Should a Merchant or Reward Supplier delay payout or cease trading then we will make reasonable efforts to recover your reward but we cannot be liable for any rewards which have not been received.
From time to time Merchants may increase or decrease the cash rewards paid. We take reasonable care to ensure that the advertisements and offers the Merchants are making in the advertisements they place on our website are accurate and up to date. However, we give no warranty as to the accuracy of any information provided to you where such information has been provided to us by Merchants or other third parties and we do not accept lability for any errors or omissions by third parties, neither do we accept liability for any resulting damage or loss.
When a transaction has been tracked to your Account and subsequently confirmed by the Merchant, we will show the amount as a credit in your Account. If the goods are returned or a sale reversed or amended by any means then the amount shown as a credit in your Account will be amended to reflect that.
Please note that some Merchants will not permit cash rewards to be paid in the case of repeat purchases. You should check their terms and conditions before making a repeat purchase if you are unsure.
We reserve the right to reclaim or make balance adjustments where it has been established that any credit has been applied in error. This will include but is not limited to transactions where the credit is not genuinely due.
Card-linked cash rewards – in store and online
You can earn card-linked cash rewards by registering up to 15 debit or credit cards, to link them to your mustard jar Account.
Your card-linked offers are personalised to you. The offers will take into account which offers you have previously purchased and your preferences.
All card-linked offers will be subject to the terms and conditions of the participating Merchant and all cash rewards provided subject to the terms and conditions of our Reward Supplier as well as these Terms and Conditions. Applicable terms and conditions may include, for example the cash rewards that can be earned, any applicable expiry date and the applicable retail outlets / websites from which cash rewards can be earned.
We will use reasonable endeavours to recover non-pay-outs, however the Merchant’s decision is final. Whilst we will try and recover missing cash rewards, we reserve the right not to chase missing cash rewards claims, particularly where no purchase has been made. Where there is a missing cash reward and a merchant still hasn’t paid a manual cash rewards claim after a period of six months, then we reserve the right to close the query.
Where a cash reward has been successfully paid by a Merchant, you may receive a lower amount than expected, this is due to the amounts received by us being less than expected.
We reserve the right to reclaim or make balance adjustments accordingly where it has been established that any credit has been applied in error. This will include but is not limited to transactions where the credit is not genuinely due or where the cash rewards for any credited transaction has not been received from a Merchant or its agencies.
For the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding any other provision in these Terms and Conditions or the website, you agree that, in all circumstances, the redemption of cash rewards is at our sole discretion and further we may refuse to pay the cash rewards to you for any reason including but not limited to non-payment or late payment by the Merchant.
Card-linked cash rewards may not be paid if the card being used to make the purchase is registered with a bank card-linked offer, loyalty or rewards scheme or another card-linked offer, loyalty or rewards scheme. Card-link cash rewards will not be paid on transactions made using Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, or other wallet providers, including PayPal and YoYo Wallet or using retailer store cards.
By registering a payment card in connection with transaction monitoring, you authorise mustard jar (via Sports Loyalty Card Limited (trading as Reward)) to share your payment card information with Visa, MasterCard and other necessary payment service providers (Payment Service Providers) to confirm your enrolment. You authorise the Payment Service Providers to monitor transactions on your registered debit and/or credit card(s) to identify purchases in order to determine whether you have qualified for an offer linked to your card(s) and for the Payment Service Providers to share such transaction details with Reward and where applicable, mustard jar, to enable your card-linked offer(s) and recommended offers functionality.
You may opt-out of transaction monitoring on the payment card(s) you have registered at any time, by removing them from My registered cards in My account or by emailing email@example.com.
If you choose to download the mustard jar app, we may use your mobile phone data to present you with Merchant offers based on your location or preferences. Please see our Privacy and Cookies Policy for further information.
Please note that participating Merchants and Merchant offers can change with no prior notification.
At times, we may be prevented from providing retailer offers due to events beyond our reasonable control.
We cannot be held responsible or liable if the Merchant or our Reward Supplier fails to report your sale or applicable cash reward to us or decides not to do so for any reason. The Merchant’s decision is final. However, you will receive 100% of applicable cash rewards paid to us by the Reward Supplier.
Redeeming your mustard jar cash rewards
The mustard jar cash rewards that have been credited to your Account can only be paid out to you after you have made a relevant qualifying purchase of an insurance product through mustard.co.uk and verified your purchase.
When you have made your purchase please visit Redeem to confirm your purchase. Once your purchase has been verified by us you may redeem your ‘Confirmed’ mustard jar cash rewards.
You will only be able to redeem a cash reward in respect of ‘Confirmed’ transactions shown in your Account. Cash rewards shown as ‘Pending’ cannot be redeemed. A transaction turns from ‘Pending’ to ‘Confirmed’ once a Merchant has confirmed that the transaction has fulfilled the offer’s terms and conditions.
The cash reward is seen as mustard jar funds until such time as they are redeemed and received by you in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. For more details on transaction statuses please see How it Works.
The £5 account administration fee described below will be deducted from the cash rewards in your Account each time you redeem.
Please take care when entering your bank details as payments made to incorrect destinations are not recoverable. We will not be held liable for any delays, or consequences of delays in payments. We reserve the right to put payment requests on hold pending any investigation if we reasonably consider it appropriate to do so. We also reserve the right to recover payments which we deem to have been wrongly made.
For the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement you agree that, in all circumstances, the redemption of rewards is at our sole reasonable discretion and further we may refuse to pay the rewards to you for any reason including but not limited to non-payment or late payment by the Merchant or our Reward Suppliers.
Do you charge a fee for your Services?
We do not charge consumers to use our Services. However, you will be charged a £5 account administration fee each time you choose to redeem cash rewards, which will be deducted from your mustard jar cash rewards.
Please note that when you make a purchase from a Merchant by clicking on a link on our website, we may charge the Merchant a fee. We may also receive income from other businesses that you are exposed to, who advertise on the mustard jar website.
We take security very seriously because we want you to feel confident about the privacy and security of the personal information you provide to us. We follow strict security procedures in respect of the collection, storage and disclosure of your information as required by law. These security procedures mean that we or third parties from whom you purchase a product may ask for proof of your identity before disclosing any information to you.
In supplying our Services we will have to collect, store and process personal information about you and disclose that information to third parties.
All the personal information that we retain will be held, collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy and Cookies Policy.
Any third parties you are introduced to will have their own data protection policies. They may differ from ours so you should check how they will use any data that you provide them.
You must not do any of the following when dealing with us or in connection with our Services or in connection with any dealings you have with Merchants, Reward Suppliers or other third parties connected with us or with the provision of our Services:
- Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy or intellectual property rights where applicable) of us or others;
- Publish, post, distribute or disseminate any material which is obscene, indecent or unlawful;
- Upload software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of confidentiality or privacy of publicity, where applicable) unless you own or otherwise have the right to do so;
- Upload anything that contains viruses, corrupted files, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or any other similar harmful computer code, software or programmes which are designed to or have the effect of adversely affecting the operation of any computer software or hardware or that may damage the operation of another person's computer;
- Upload material which contains an active hypertext link to a third party's website;
- Delete any required author attributions, legal notices or proprietary designations or labels in any material that is uploaded;
- Breach, in any way the Data Protection Act or any other applicable local, national or international law or regulations;
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security protection including (without limitation) re-registering as a customer if you have previously been terminated by us for breach or rejected as an Account holder;
- Be discriminatory (whether on the grounds of race, sex, sexuality, disability, marital or family status or on any other protected status grounds);
- Disseminate anything which might constitute biased or hate speech;
- Use our Services in ways which are unlawful or fraudulent, or have any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
- Use our Services in any way which may harm or attempt to harm minors;
- Use our Services to process any other person’s personal data or disclose any information relating to anyone else unless you have their express consent to do so and they understand how we will use their data;
- Use our Services other than for personal use.
You agree to:
- Answer all questions we ask in connection with our Services (including in connection with any Merchants or Reward Suppliers) or which are asked by any Merchant or Reward Supplier honestly, completely and to the best of your knowledge. You must also be responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate, is not misleading and that you disclose all relevant information and swiftly correct any errors with us and with any Merchant from whom you have made a purchase. If you receive documents from a Merchant you should check again that the details are correct and that the product or services meets your needs. Please note that changes to your details on our website will not change your details for the purpose of any products purchased from a Merchant;
- Keep your information such as passwords and any material you use to access our Services secure;
- Copy or use only material which you have the right to use; and
- Inform us as soon as reasonably possible if you become aware that you are or may be in breach of these Terms and Conditions or those of a Merchant, Reward Supplier or other third party and comply with our reasonable directions with respect to remedying the situation.
We also work with Feefo and other feedback providers. This allows us to continually improve our services. Although we have used great care to select feedback suppliers, we are not agents or partners of those suppliers or otherwise responsible for their acts or omissions or for the provision of the feedback services provided by them.

We will aim to answer your query within 14 days, however dependant on the complexity of your query this may not always be possible. If you are unhappy with the way that we have dealt with a complaint, you can ask for our response to be reviewed by a senior representative of the team.
If our customer services department has been unable to resolve your complaint or your complaint has not been resolved within eight weeks, you may be able to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service provided you do so within six months of our final response.

If you have purchased a product or service and you have a complaint about a Merchant, Reward Supplier or another third party, please contact them directly. We are unable to deal with complaints about providers or third parties and cannot accept liability for them.
Issues can also be resolved using the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Exclusion of Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall operate to exclude or limit liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; or fraud or fraudulent statements; or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. We will only be liable for foreseeable losses and not for any indirect losses including without limitation lost profits, anticipated savings, goodwill, revenue, lost data, lost business or income or for any special, punitive, exemplary or consequential damages.
Except as expressly set out here and to the extent that it would be illegal for us to do so we exclude all conditions, warranties and representations whether express or implied, statutory or otherwise in relation to your use of our Services.
Unless liability cannot be excluded we will not be held responsible for any errors we make or for omissions. In the event that any liability which cannot be excluded falls upon us, our liability shall not exceed £50,000 in connection with any one event or connected events, except in respect of injury to or the death of any person resulting from our negligence.
Whilst we have taken every step to ensure the information contained and displayed on our website and any other information we give you is accurate and up-to-date, we are unable to accept liability for any errors or omissions in respect of such information and reserve the right to add, amend or delete content at any time. We can give no warranty that our website or any communications we send will be free from viruses, corrupted files, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or any other similar harmful computer code, software or programmes or anything else which may cause damage or loss.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend our Services or restrict access to them at any time and without notice. We give no warranty as to the functionality of our website. We will not be liable if for any reason our Services are unavailable at any time or for any period.
We reserve the right to terminate or modify our mustard jar cash rewards scheme at any time. Provided that you have not breached these Terms or Conditions, or engaged in any fraudulent or abusive activity or acted in any other way which is not in good faith, (such as making purchases which are not genuine or made in good faith), if we terminate our scheme, you will be entitled to receive all cash rewards collected, minus a £5 account administration fee.
Monitoring of website activity and or communications may take place in accordance with UK law for training and development purposes or for other legitimate interests such as crime prevention.
Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property, domain names and data used in connection with our Services (including our software) remain our property or the property of our licensors, contractors, Reward Suppliers or Merchants as the case may be. You are not permitted to copy or make use of any intellectual property belonging to us or to our licensors, Reward Suppliers, contractors or Merchants except in the course of using our Services in a way which was clearly anticipated by us for legitimate, genuine, lawful and good faith purposes and as expressly permitted by our licensors, Reward Suppliers, contractors or Merchants. You are not permitted to use our Services or any data derived as a result of use of our Services for any purpose other than in a way which was clearly anticipated by us for legitimate, genuine, lawful and good faith purposes . If you are in any doubt about whether you are permitted to make use of any intellectual property rights or data, please contact us.
The mustard jar platform is patent pending.
Our website is protected by copyright and is for personal use only. You may not reproduce, or make available our website or any of its contents without our express written consent. You may not distribute or commercially exploit our website or its content, without our express written consent. We reserve all other rights.
Transfer of agreement
We may transfer our rights and/ or our obligations under these Terms and Conditions to another legal entity. You need our consent to transfer your rights to someone else. You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these Terms and Conditions to another person if we agree to this in writing.
Any failure by us to enforce these Terms and Conditions or any of them will not constitute a waiver of our right to subsequently enforce such provisions or any other provision of these Terms and Conditions.
These terms of business shall be governed and construed in accordance with English Law. Any legal action or proceedings arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any part of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most correctly matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.
